Social Media and Marketing: Maintains social media accounts, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms that develop, working closely with the Integrated Media Office to keep the community informed about the Brain and Spine Center. Participates in social media syndicate groups, other social media-related events, and educational opportunities at MD Anderson. Works with the marketing team to develop and implement ad campaigns and other advertising efforts for the Brain and Spine Center.
Website Development and Maintenance: Manages content and maintains internal and external websites for the Brain Tumor Program, the Brain and Spine Center, and the Neuro-Oncology and Neurosurgery departments. Works with faculty to implement their material into the websites. Liaises with Internet Services.
Communications: Works directly with the department chairs and administrators in developing strategies to promote Brain Tumor Program goals and other programs related to the Brain and Spine Center, institution-wide and externally, and other publications/communications as required. Provides contacts, document, and report writing support to the Chair, DAs, and individual faculty (as approved). Serves as an expert resource to the Brain Tumor Program/Brain and Spine Center concerning publications. Generates ideas for communications strategies and develops promotional plans and materials. Establishes professional relationships with physicians to keep referring physicians in the ten-county area and community at large informed about the Brain and Spine Center.
Publications Management: Assumes direct responsibility for developing and producing the Spine Tumor Newsletter and Brain Tumor Newsletter. Conduct interviews and write and edit articles. Advise committee in the development of story ideas. Develop a distribution list (both internal and external) to grow readership and ensure appropriate parties are kept abreast of Program/Center activities. Collaborates with Communications, Medical Graphics, and Photography to ensure the creation of quality design and production for print and broadcast materials. Identifies need and develops content for various communications mediums (i.e., brochures, online distribution, etc.) to increase the visibility of the Brain Tumor Program and the Brain and Spine Center.

Marketing and Outreach (Education) for the Department of Clinical Investigation- focus on research and training for GME and residents of Brooke Army Medical Center, or BAMC. BAMC is the United States Army’s premier medical institution. Located on Fort Sam Houston, and is a 425-bed Academic Medical Center, and is the Department of Defense’s largest facility and only Level 1 Trauma Center.
The Department of Clinical Investigation (DCI) mission is to promote, coordinate, support, and oversee organized scientific inquiry in basic, translational, and clinical research at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and foster collaboration with other institutions in the Regional Health Command – Central (RHC-C). Through research, the DCI facilitates improvements in the health care of our beneficiaries by introducing new technologies or medical treatments and supports Graduate Medical Education (GME) by encouraging and supporting research that includes residents at BAMC.
